Big Daddy Guns Takes on Anti-Gun Activists in Morgantown, WV

Morgantown, WV – Big Daddy Guns is proud to be joining the Morgantown, WV community now that our local business license has been approved. Over the past several weeks, there has been a small group, known as Protect Morgantown, that has worked to mischaracterize, slander, and sow division about the opening of our location in the town.

Last Tuesday, Co-Founder, Sherrie McKnight, and public relations coordinator, Nicholas Lahera, visited the town to attend a city council meeting.  At the meeting, they spoke about Big Daddy Guns’ mission of educating, motivating, and activating Americans about the Second Amendment. Additionally, they reassured the organizers that Big Daddy Enterprises is a First Amendment absolutist organization, in that we support everyone’s right to free speech and applaud those who choose to exercise these rights. 

 The large caveat to the First Amendment is its inherent protection by the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is what allows us as ordinary citizens to protect ourselves appropriately and continue to live in a free and prosperous society. Beyond that, the Second Amendment even protects hunting which is one of the oldest sports in history.

At the meeting, Sherrie had this to say:

“[We] came here all the way from Gainesville, FL in hopes that you would also welcome us into your community to help the citizens of Morgantown exercise their Second Amendment rights at prices they can live with.  We look forward to creating a welcoming environment in our stores focused on customers first, placing an emphasis on gun safety, promoting firearm ownership for personal protection, and fostering local relationships.”
