Big Daddy Unlimited stands for Free Speech

15 Second Briefing:

A group of anti-gun lawmakers has taken their attacks against free speech and the Second Amendment a step further. A letter signed by five U.S. senators was sent to YouTube, attempting to remove all videos showing the assembly of 80 percent lowers.

In order to fight for free speech and the Second Amendment, we need to support and defend 2A influencers and content creators such as Tactical Toolbox, Pew Pew Tactical, and Mr. BaGGs.

The Letter From the Anti-Gun Senators

On February 14, 2022, five anti-gun senators wrote a letter to YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. Attempting to block the free speech rights of American citizens, the senators wrote to YouTube asking them to remove videos showing the legal assembly of unserialized firearms, 80 percent lowers, for personal use.

The five antigun senators, Richard Blumenthal, Robert Menendez, Christopher Murphy, Cory Booker, and Edward Markey, are relentless in their efforts to block free speech rights, infringe upon Second Amendment rights, and dictate the policies of a private company.

The letter cites YouTube’s community guidelines which were changed in 2018 to prohibit videos that include manufacturing firearms along with several other firearms restrictions. These new guidelines were added after the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida in February 2018.

With the issues at hand under the Biden Administration, it would seem that these five Liberal senators would have more pressing policy priorities than the content that’s posted on YouTube

80 Percent Lowers Are Legal

Assembled, unserialized firearms have been given the name “ghost guns” by politicians and law enforcement. They’re more accurately referred to as 80 percent lowers in the firearms community because they’re made using an 80 percent completed lower receiver.

American citizens are allowed the right to build their own firearms for personal use. They are protected by the Second Amendment and The Gun Control Act of 1968

Like most gun control arguments, the arguments against 80 percent lowers are filled with lies and disinformation. There is no proof that unserialized firearms contribute to violent crime or that assembly videos lead to illegal firearm possession or use.

The reason for prohibiting these videos isn’t to improve safety. The true aim is to censor positive, truthful content that shines a positive light on gun owners. Their end goal is to steer the public narrative against firearm ownership and the Second Amendment.

Who Does This Affect?

This isn’t only an attempt to ban a category of videos. It’s an attempt to ostracize and censor a large group of influencers who create popular, educational content that encourages citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

This policy unfairly takes away an important revenue stream for hard-working American citizens. In the letter to the YouTube CEO, 20 YouTube videos were cited as violating the guideline, including multiple videos by Jonathan Wright.

Jonathan Wright of Tactical Toolbox and his wife.

Wright’s main source of income is his YouTube channel, Tactical Toolbox. He is a prime example of a hard-working American citizen who creates content to make a living. He uses his channel to teach others about safe firearm use, personal finance, and entrepreneurship. Without the revenue from the videos on his channel, he will not be able to continue to create and share educational content with his subscribers or make a living.

This small group of anti-gun senators wants to effectively permanently ban Jonathan Wright and other content creators from YouTube in order to remove their Second Amendment content from the public eye.

Big Daddy Unlimited encourages you to fight for Jonathan Wright and other Second Amendment content creators by joining the fight here.

The YouTube ban on educational videos that emphasize the safe use of firearms disregards logic and common sense. They continue to promote violent content from movies, television, and video games. Dangerous stunt videos that glorify dangerous choices are also allowed to stay.

The Big Picture: The Battle Against the Second Amendment

“Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth,”

Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propaganda Minister

Gun control advocates use this principle today to spread misinformation to discourage citizens from exercising their Second Amendment rights.

Anti-gun senators are targeting the enforcement of this YouTube policy because they know that the more real, truthful firearm content that is available, the less control they will have over their Second Amendment narrative.

They don’t want firearm assembly and Second Amendment advocacy to remain present in the “mainstream” of our culture, because as that happens, the gun control narrative is being stopped dead in its tracks. The Liberal Left will soon be forced to find another set of American rights to attack.

Free speech and the Second Amendment will prevail. In order for Americans to continue to spread their messages of freedom and safe firearm ownership, we all need to continue to fight for our free speech and Second Amendment rights by speaking out and supporting Second Amendment influencers.

Big Daddy Unlimited advocates strongly for Second Amendment rights because we believe that the right to keep and bear arms exists to protect all of the other God-given rights of American citizens.
