Morgantown, WV – Yesterday, Big Daddy Guns was contacted by the Monongalia County Deputy Sheriff’s Association for support with their annual “Back to School” program which serves the underprivileged students in the county. As of yesterday, the Association was still in need of sponsors to cover the remaining nearly $11,000 in needed donations. Big Daddy Guns was contacted because they had heard of the organization’s philanthropic nature and hoped that we could serve a community in need.

Big Daddy Guns has promised to earn your trust as a good steward of the community, and we feel blessed that this opportunity has presented itself.  We are proud to help with this worthy cause in the best way we know how: grassroots efforts. However, Big Daddy Guns is stepping up to the plate with a large caveat.

Big Daddy Guns is issuing a formal challenge to the opposition group, Protect Morgantown. Starting today, the challenge is to see which organization raises the most amount of money for this worthy cause. At the end of the challenge, on August 17, 2022, the organization that raises the least amount of money, must cease its operation.

Should we lose, we are promising to vacate The Deck location and allow for a different tenant in the space. Should we win, Protect Morgantown will stop their efforts and accept that we will open as expected without any further protests of Big Daddy Guns, its location(s), Big Daddy Unlimited or associated businesses.

To accept the challenge, we are calling on Mrs. Jodi Hollingshead to contact us via email at press@bigdaddyunlimited.com, so that we may set up a call to discuss the key details further. Should she not respond within 48 hours, we will assume Protect Morgantown is not interested in this community fundraiser. Mrs. Hollingshead has stated that she’d like to have a conversation with Mrs. McKnight; here is the perfect opportunity.

Despite our clear and evident differences, we should be able to come together for a cause as important as this. This is our opportunity to stop fighting, and start uniting! Together, we build success. We are calling on Protect Morgantown to help our community in its time of need.

On the topic, Co-Founder Sherrie McKnight stated:

“Just like I always say, ‘You gotta show up to go up!’ Now we are saying put your money where your mouth is and GO BIG or GO HOME! The group that doesn’t make the cut in supporting the Cash for Kids program will have to shut up, pack up, and go home. This is a stellar way for two diametrically opposed groups to come together for the greater good.”

Regardless of Protect Morgantown’s response, Big Daddy Guns is dedicated to fundraising to support the children of this town and we are calling on our supporters to help the Deputy Sheriff’s Association.

  1. Sounds like you’re pitting your corporate wealth against a local group of protesters. That’s frankly cheap and pretty sad.
