Stepping away from the usual political commentary and press releases, I wanted to take the opportunity to speak on a more personal level and document my first experience traveling to SHOT Show hosted by NSSF.
In my personal life, I am actually a Nevada native. I lived right outside of Las Vegas in Henderson. My grandmother was a legend there with a personal parking space at several casinos. However, we left when I was five, so I can’t wait to truly experience my “hometown” for the first time.

Professionally, I am willing to admit that I am newer to the industry. Growing up, there were always firearms in my house because my dad is a deputy. We would occasionally go shooting and he taught me proper firearms safety, but that was pretty much the extent of my knowledge with firearms. Additionally, I have also been extremely engaged in politics and the political sphere for years, so I respected the Second Amendment and supported it fully, but knew very little of all the caveats and the extent of gun control in our country.
I joined Big Daddy Unlimited in August 2021 to help grow its non-profit arm, American Gun Coalition, and since my start, I have earned a new appreciation for our rights and understand that everything is under attack.

The anti-gun activists always like to say, “It’s just assault weapons” or “it’s just” this or that. I have learned that they are attacking every facet of the firearms industry from multiple angles.
With this in mind, and serving as the head of Public Relations for the Big Daddy Brand, I knew that I needed to take that next step in educating myself more about the industry.
I have little idea what to expect from SHOT Show, but I am looking forward to documenting my trip with our audience and highlighting the further efforts we can take to protect our rights. I hope to meet media partners to continue growing Intel, expand our ability to effectively communicate company news with you, and provide some insight for all of you into the industry. Maybe, if I am lucky, I’ll even be able to enjoy Vegas a bit.
