Like yesterday, let’s start with the stats:

  • I walked a little slower yesterday, only clocking 9.5 miles (22.8 mi total)
  • One class and one press conference
  • AND, I am UP $500, but down $80 cash, more later.

If you will believe it, I still have not even made it to another floor to see the exhibits there. I stayed on the same floor because there was still so much to take in. For example, I stopped at the GLOCK booth on Tuesday and didn’t see much, but yesterday, I saw their prototype performance trigger. For a brand that believes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” this was pretty interesting to see; I am rather curious about whether this will come standard in the next-gen or is being used to build market share with the likes of Apex.

I’m no expert by any stretch of the word, but I was also very intrigued by Magpul’s Daka Modular gun case. You can see in the picture that the individual pieces look like styrofoam Lego bricks. This unit has unlimited configurations and is expected to launch in Q2.

I know you didn’t come to this blog for me to compare things to Lego bricks, so let’s get into what I learned yesterday. In the Meta Content and Ads class, I learned that there is a way for you to see more firearms content on Instagram! Unfortunately, you won’t want to.

By changing your “sensitive content control” you will see more firearms content. However, Meta and most platforms group firearms content with illegal trade/activities, drugs, and sexual and nude content. If you choose to see more sensitive content, you are automatically subjected to that content. Considering BDU has the objective of normalizing and destigmatizing the gun-buying process, this is discouraging. It’s the equivalent of city zoning requiring gun shops to be near smoke shops or adult stores, cough, cough, Morgantown, VW.

If you’re still interested in seeing more content, here’s how you do it:

  1. Go to your profile and select the three-lined menu button on the top right of the page.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Account.
  4. Select Sensitive content control.
  5. Select “More: You might see more sensitive content.”

Also, I’m sure you’re wondering, what is a POMA? It’s the Professional Outdoor Media Association that aids writers, media members, and businesses to connect with each other and educate themselves on communications in the outdoor sports realm. At their press conference, they drew a name for a free year membership, and guess who won? Me! I am considering this as one of my wins in town and that is why I am $500 up! Read it and weep!

Outside of the conference, we ate at the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace and I highly recommend it. I had the most delicious, delectable piece of prime rib ever! It was very expensive, but a worthwhile experience!

One thing that I hope to find today is the thermal sights from Holosun that Lucas Botkin of T.Rex Arms shared on his Instagram story; hopefully pictures to come. I am attending “Understanding Traditional Media,” and “Engage, Attract and Reactivate with a Successful Loyalty Program.” Stay tuned.
